SoM NNL Replay: CHI@LIN game 1 - homers and errors

The Lincoln Giants start a seven game homestand with a three game interleague series against their NNL namesakes (and also first placed) Giants franchise from Chicago. Both teams will try to extend their league leading position, so let's see who can put some distance between themselves and the pursuing teams.

Bolstered by a three run first inning, and two-run homers from Suttles and Beckwith, Max Manning cruises through a strong complete game outing against a visiting team that is still clearly missing its injured star Dihigo to get the offensive going.

Manning scatters six hits and two walks wide enough to limit the Chicago Giants to only two runs despite two errors from his own defense vs. one committed by the visitors.

The Lincoln offense fires on all cylinders, with ten hits compensating for seven Ks and two players caught stealing by Chicago's replacement catcher Perkins who continues the league wide trend to discourage habitual base swipers...
