SoM NNL Replay, LIN@CHI game 2: 13-3

This is the second of a two game series between the two league leaders, the Lincoln Giants headed by Oscar Charleston for the ECL and the Chicago Giants for the NNL.

Lincoln starter Bill Holland has a great day, keeping the home team to just three runs. His counterpart Mendez not so much, running into deep trouble in the 5th giving up two hits, two walks and hitting a batter. Reliever Verdell Mathis with the bases loaded. However, the visitors continue to score against him for a clear victory. 

Charleston has a field day with 3 hits, 3 runs, 2 RBIs and a steal (and a balk provoked by his stealing attempts) and solid defense in the deep Schorling park (lots of hard hit liners turned into outs, not singles, per the ballpark stats).

Having split this two game series, both teams stay on top of their leagues, Chicago at 7-6 and Lincoln at 8-6 (unless the Homestead Grays win and pass them by half a game).
