Game 2 HOM@STL: a bit of everything to tie the series
Things get going in the fourth when both teams trade homers. The home team ends up one run ahead 4-3 due to an earlier run from the first, and an unfortunate Monroe caught stealing right before his teammate Radcliff deposits one into the left field bleachers (Radcliff had taken over at second base after starting infielder Warwick took a pitch off his left hand and had to leave the game).
With two outs in the top of the eighth, Grays pitcher Wickware takes things in his own hands and bats in the go-ahead run with a blooper into no man's land in left center, scoring Monroe (who had managed a successful steal this time and advanced to third on a hard hit ground out from Ratcliff to Allen).
However, Wickware immediately goes on to lose the lead again, giving up two runs on a homer and two singles in the bottom of the inning.
With a quick 1-2-3 ninth, Joe Rogan closes out the game to take the win, tie the season opening series and start the Sunday double header on a positive note despite the injury to the Stars' second base man Warfield.
